The Purcell Register will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.

The office will be open at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning and all deadlines will remain the same.

Purcell’s annual Memorial Day service will be held Monday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery.

In case of rain, the service will be moved to the Purcell Multi-Purpose Center.

Happy anniversary to my sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Missy and Mike Clark of Midwest City.

They celebrate their 47th wedding anniversary Tuesday, May 26.

Schools are all out in the Heart of Oklahoma.

Crosswalks and neighborhood streets will be filled with children celebrating the beginning of summer.

The message is simple: Mortorists - Put down the phone, stay alert and watch out for these precious, vulnerable children.

The Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet is set for Thursday, June 4, at 6 p.m.

The banquet will be held at the Showplace Theatre at the Riverwind Casino in Goldsby.

The Purcell Public Library will present the “Painting Together: Step by Step with Pinot’s Palette” Thursday, June 4, from 5-7 p.m. in the meeting room of the library.

Join Pinot’s Palette to connect with others in this upbeat creative painting class where you’ll be guided through steps to create your own work of art.

The event is designed for those 18+ and registration is required for the program.

The Purcell Municipal Hospital Foundation is sponsoring a golf tournament benefiting the foundation Saturday, June 20, at the Brent Bruehl Memorial Golf Course in Purcell.

Check-in for the tournament begins at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

The cost for a four-man team is $400. A 50/50 drawing will benefit the foundation scholarship program.

Here’s a really good recipe, especially if you’re feeding a big crowd!

Crack Dip

16 oz. sour cream

16 oz. mayo

16 oz. ranch dressing, from a bottle

1 jar real bacon bits

1 pkg. shredded parmesan cheese

1 bundle green onions

Mix all together and refrigerate overnight.
