Purcell, Lexington and Washington letter carriers will “Stamp Out Hunger” by collecting canned food donations from households on their mail routes Saturday, May 10.
To help “Stamp Out Hunger,” fill a plastic bag with canned food donations and place it by your mailbox Saturday, May 10, before your letter carrier arrives.
Most needed items include canned meats, meat-based soups, canned fruits, canned vegetables, peanut butter, and rice and beans. Nonperishable food donations can also be dropped off at participating post offices.

You can dispose of Styrofoam in a safe, environmentally-friendly manner by bringing it to the Purcell Public Library Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The library is hosting the foam recycling project with Church Caring for Creation whose mission is to “Save the planet ‘one drink cup at a time’ by recycling #6 plastic.”
Join in the recycling efforts to create positive change in our community by recycling Styrofoam.

Every once in a while you have to have some comforting and totally delicious food. This fits that description perfectly.
Velveeta Chicken Rotel Spaghetti
2-3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (chopped into bite sized pieces)
1 can Rotel Tomatoes with Diced Green Chiles (undrained)
1 green bell pepper (diced)
1 small white onion (diced)
Velveeta Cheese Loaf (16 oz.) – cut into 1 inch cubes
1 (1 lb) package thin spaghetti noodles
Cook chicken in 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter until almost done. Add bell pepper and onion to the chicken and saute until chicken is cooked and vegetables are soft.
Cook spaghetti noodles according to package directions.
Combine chicken, pepper and onions with the cooked spaghetti noodles while they are still hot in a slow cooker. Add cubes of Velveeta cheese to the mix and stir until everything is combined and the Velveeta cheese is starting to melt.
Cover and stir occasionally until Velveeta is completely melted.
