A commercial truck that rolled near mile marker 94 on I-35 early Tuesday morning caused traffic congestion, including numerous accidents, in Purcell as southbound traffic was rerouted.
Purcell Police eventually had to be stationed at intersections with traffic lights to keep traffic moving.
Three accidents occurred in Purcell due to the traffic mess including one crash reportedly with an injury at Wyatt Road and Green Avenue. Another non-injury mishap occurred at Main and Green.
Local traffic was snarled with both lanes of I-35 closed when the accident occurred at 3:59 a.m.
Later one lane was opened but southbound interstate traffic continued to flow through Purcell until nearly noon Tuesday.
Purcell Police finally reported the clearing of Green Avenue about 11:45 a.m.
The OHP did not release details of the accident on the interstate.
