First responders were called to a residence south of Dibble just after 1 p.m. July 7.
They found a vehicle on fire and quickly doused the blaze.
They discovered an adult male inside the vehicle and sent the remains to the State Medical’s Examiner’s Office.
McClain County Sheriff Landy Offolter said investigators found a bullet in the deceased individual and are classifying it as a homicide.
McClain County dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call regarding a possible vehicle explosion near 194th Street and Wooten Way in Lindsay.
The remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the victim’s identification, as well as his cause and manner of death.
The cause of the vehicle fire and circumstances surrounding the victim’s death are still under investigation at this time.
