Man attempted to flee drug agent

An Arlington, Texas, man is free on $75,000 bond on charges of endangering others while attempting to elude police, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony and acquiring proceeds from drug activity.

A preliminary hearing conference for Damarious Davis, 26, will be at 9 a.m. December 14.

According to an affidavit, an Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs agent arrested Davis on November 2 during a traffic stop on North Green Avenue.

The agent spotted Davis’ Dodge Challenger approaching Purcell in the northbound lanes of I-35.

He stopped Davis for following too closely, but when the agent asked him to exit the vehicle, Davis reportedly sped away.

According to the affidavit, Davis was passing vehicles on the median between the cable barrier and northbound traffic at speeds estimated in excess of 160 mph..

Davis entered Purcell and was stopped by Purcell police in the 1500 block of North Green Avenue.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a loaded pistol and large amount of currency.

Also, it was learned Davis is a convicted felon.
