With the government shut down continuing, we reached out to the Delta Head Start to see was the future holds for them.

The Project Director for Delta Head Start, Alecia Walling, reports they have funding to keep the learning center open and completely functioning through November 30.

And, she said, they have some funds that will allow them to continue operating until around Christmas if the shutdown continues.

The federally funded school serves a vital function in early childhood development.

Special ceremonies are planned at both Purcell and Lexington High Schools.

But it shouldn’t just be that day.

Any time you see a veteran, tell them thanks for their service.

But for sure on Veterans Day thank those who have paved the way for the freedoms we enjoy to this very day.
