Glen Dewey Adair, 86, of Purcell passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Glen was born on March 10, 1939, in Hoisington, Kansas, to D.G. and Fern (Shepard) Adair. He was a proud graduate of Ardmore High School Class of 1957. A hardworking and kindhearted man, Glen spent many years as the proud owner of Adair’s Foods where he greeted generations of customers with a smile. He was the proud father of three sons: Dewey, Charles and Mel. Glen often said his happiest years were working at Super C in Apache, Oklahoma. After retiring from the store, he stayed active in the community by mowing lawns for neighbors, friends, and anyone in need.
Glen was known for his strong work ethic, gentle humor, and his unwavering willingness to help others. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his Aunt Jo Broughton; and Uncle Adrian Broughton.
He is survived by his children, Dewey Adair and wife, Maria, Beltran Greaney, Charles Adair and wife, Karen, and Mel Adair and wife, Julie; grandchildren, Chelsea Adair, Kathleen Greaney, Alexa Jo Adair and D.G. II Adair; and other extended family members including his beloved cousins, Dan Broughton and wife, Ann, Jovan Hodges and Adriane Fox.
Services will be held Friday, April 11, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Apache with Jon Syverson officiating. True to the spirit of Glen he would want it simple, practical, and surrounded by the people he loved. Interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery with Joseph Wilcox, Gavin Jolls, Hunter Meyer and Phil Foraker serving as pallbearers and Honorary pallbearer Dan Broughton. Viewing will be available Thursday, April10, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Crews Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you honor Glen’s memory by lending a helping hand to a neighbor or showing kindness to someone in need, as he often did. Trust us - Glen would have much rather seen a nicely mowed lawn than a bouquet of flowers any day!
