Last week the Wayne Bulldogs split their games. They picked up a 15-7 win over Stratford on Tuesday but fell to Lexington 10-2 on Thursday.

Lexington

Senior Jaxon Dill singled in the first inning to score two runs and give Wayne a lead.

But Lexington cut that lead in half, pushing one run across in the third inning. Then they blew it open with eight runs in the fourth and one more insurance run in the fifth.

Wayne finished the game with five hits – two from Ty Kemp and one each from Ben Fisher, Lane Canfield and Dill.

Duke Moore was on the mound for three and two-thirds innings. He struck out five. Dill came on in relief and had three strike outs.

Stratford

Last Tuesday Stratford jumped out with seven runs in the first inning. But, Wayne didn’t give up and cut into their lead with five runs in the bottom of the first.

The good guys added a run in the second and an error in the third added another run to knot the score at seven-all.

Thanks to a seven-run fourth inning, Wayne pulled away and got the win.

They finished the game with 13 hits, including multiple from Langstyn McClendon, Brody Kemp and Ty Kemp.

Ty Kemp also had four ribbies.

On the mound for all five innings was Ty Kemp. He allowed seven runs (five earned) on three hits. He walked four and struck out two.

The Bulldogs were traveling to Rush Springs today (Thursday) then scheduled to host Meeker on Tuesday.
