With all due respect to The View co-host Sunny Hostin, I couldn’t have been more proud to see all the American Flags I saw on July 4.
For those of you who may have missed it, Hostin says seeing an American Flag makes her feel unsafe.
I’d like to see how safe she feels under an Iranian, Chinese or Russian Flag.
The television coverage on all three major networks was awesome covering the large ship parade on the Hudson River and fireworks displays in New York, Washington, D.C. and Nashville.
It’s widely estimated that Macy’s spends between $6 million and $10 million on their fireworks display each year on the Hudson River.
The Nashville display was also a darn good one, which I had never seen before.
All of the above made me glad to live in America where at least we know we’re free.

My long-time friend Bill Hancock writes a weekly column in The Hobart Democrat-Chief.
He had a funny in his column last week that I wanted to share with our readers. Here’s what he said.
The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.
The French eat a lot of fat and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.
The Japanese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.
The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.
The Germans drink much beer and eat many sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.
His conclusion: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
