Though there won’t be a primary election for area school board offices, Purcell voters will go to the polls February 11 to mark ballots in a 3-way race for city cuncil.

Candidates in the Office 1 contest are Graham Fishburn, incumbent; Bill Boyle and Aaron D. Perkins.

If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote, the two candidates receiving the most votes will advance to the general election on April 7.

Three area school board races will be on the April ballot. They are:

Purcell, Office 5, Tracy Folsom, incumbent; Kevin Andrews.

Dibble, Office 5, Greg Hamby, incumbent; Jennifer Mandrell.

Washington, Office 5, Melinda Tague, incumbent; Brooke Walkup. 

Guaranteed another term after drawing no opponent were:

Lexington, Office 3 (unexpired term), Tonya Adams, incumbent; Office 5, Travis Peery.

Wayne, Office 5, Jay Posey, incumbent; Stephanie Montgomery.

Mid-America Technology Center, Office 1, Donna L. Stokes, incumbent.

Blanchard, Office 5, Tom Maston, incumbent.

Newcastle, Office 5, John Maker, incumbent.
