Elva Jo Hawkins was born to Walter Herman and Jesse Mae (McPherson) Staggs on January 3, 1937. She gained her Heavenly wings on March 11, 2025 at the age of 88 years.
Elva moved to Noble 40 years ago from Norman. She attended the Washngton Public Schools. Elva was employed with the Norman Police Department for many years in the Records Department. Elva was an avid quilter who enjoyed giving away her beautiful quilts to family and friends, she made many baby quilts that she donated to Birth Choice and the fire storm victims of 2012, she was also an amazing gardener, flowers were a passion of hers with amazing flower beds surrounding her home, Elva also loved to cook for her family and friends. She loved life, she loved her children more than anything in the world, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy.
Elva was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Johnny Cossey and Rodney Cossey, daughter, Marilyn Hawkins, two brothers, Eugene Staggs and Jack Staggs, two grandchildren, Lauren McWilliams and Andrea Janson.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy Pate and husband Larry of Noble, four grandchildren Wade Cossey and wife Hannah, Kim Schwarz, Cody Hawkins and Sarah McWilliams, nine great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
