The Purcell Elementary School gym has not had a meaningful makeover in the last 30 years.
The closest thing to a remodel was new flooring, installed in 2016 to the tune of $24,000.
Funding for this update was thanks to the PTO, Youth Basketball League and the Purcell Public Schools Foundation.
Money was also raised for the floor by students in a multi-building contest where the building principal whose students raised the least money had to kiss a pig.
Past that, the facility looks much the same as it has for generations.
It only recently, in the last few years, had air conditioning installed.

The vote on the proposal will be August 27.
To pass, the proposition must carry at least 60 percent of the vote.
Purcell schools has a webpage with information on the proposal. It can be found at www.purcellps.org/page/bond.
