Purcell residents will get a jump on the July 4th celebration this year with the event taking place this Friday.
The 2025 celebration will come with a bushel basket full of games, activities and fireworks.
Starting at 5 p.m. at the Purcell City Lake there will be food trucks and a bounce house.
The car show starts at 5:30 p.m.
All proceeds from the car show will go to McClain County Operation Christmas, according to Operation Christmas chairwoman, Peggy Christian.
Also on hand for entertainment will be:
• Heck Graphics (Face Painting)
• Pioneer Library of Purcell
• YaYa’s Inflatables
• Southern Frenzy Light-Up Toys
Fireworks will light up the sky starting at 9:45 p.m. over Purcell Lake, followed by a basketball tournament at the courts starting at 10 p.m.
Admission is free. The public is invited to bring a lawn chair.

Parks & Rec are hosting the event with special appreciation to the Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce, Purcell Outreach Committee, local businesses, community organizations and the citizens who make this celebration possible every year.
