Dragons whip Little Axe

Posted

Purcell clipped Little Axe in slow-pitch softball 10-8.

“We had a lot of good at bats,” head coach Sarah Jones said. “We are finally starting to get comfortable at the plate.”

Jones said the game was back and forth.

“We needed a game like that,” she said. “Everyone got to hit and build some confidence.”

The Dragons lost to No. 1 North Rock Creek 11-0

“They are a great squad with a lot of power hitters,” Jones said. “Our defense is starting to come around and girls are getting a lot of chances.”

The district tournament will be April 21 at Perkin-Tyron with Western Heights in a three team round robin format.

The first game will be at noon against Western Heights.

Purcell was scheduled to play at Norman North Tuesday and are scheduled to play at Byng Thursday and host Vanoss next Monday.
