Head coach Nikki Herrin and her Lady Bulldogs are hosting Districts. They will play Bennington today (Thursday) at 10 a.m. The loser of that game will play Sentinel at 11:30 a.m.
Bennington is 1-14 on the season and Sentinel has a 18-9 record.
On Monday, Wayne hosted ECP but fell 8-1.
ECP scored five runs in the third inning and tacked on one more run in the fourth.
Wayne scored one in the sixth.
ECP added two insurance runs in the seventh to seal their win.
Wayne had three hits in the game – one each from Faith Brazell, Addison Keeler and Taelyn Ringwald.
Brazell had Wayne’s lone RBI.
Addison Clagg did two innings of work in the circle. She struck out one and walked two.
She allowed three runs on one hit.
Brazell came in in relief for five innings. She struck out seven and gave up five runs on five hits.
Thursday’s games with Empire and Bray/Doyle were cancelled.
Last week, Wayne picked up an 11-3 win over Rush Springs.
Wayne collected 15 hits and 10 ribbies. Addison Keeler, Jordynn Debaets and Cylie Jones had three hits apiece. Brazell and Ava Stottlemyre each had two hits and Ringwald and Audra Watts had one each.
Keeler and Debaets led the team with three ribbies each.
Wayne had two homeruns on the day – a bomb for Brazell and a solo shot for Debaets in the third inning.
Clagg started the game for Wayne. She pitched for one inning allowing two runs on one hit and fanning one.
Brazell came in in relief for four innings. She struck out four.
Wayne was in Wynnewood for their final regular season game on Tuesday.
