$45,000 for roadway improvements

District 2 County Commissioner Wilson Lyles has announced District 2 has received a $45,000 REAP grant for roadway improvements.

Lyles was notified by letter from ASCOG Board of Trustees President Jesse Cross that McClain County was one of 54 grant applications that was approved.

ASCOG received 68 applications for nearly $4,000,000 but was only able to fund the top 54, Cross said in his letter.

Signings of the contract will be at 1:30 p.m. January 9 in Chickasha.

“REAP is a tremendous asset to our small communities, counties and unincorporated areas whose needs certainly exceed their resources and capabilities,” Cross said in his letter to Lyles.

The project must be completed by June 30, 2026.
