Della Murphy of Lexington passed away on January 16, 2022. She will be missed by many who will continue to cherish their memories of helping her make fried pies, serving through the Eastern Star, and cooking and caring for her large family. Della was also a volunteer with the Dale K. Graham Veterans Foundation and continued with her duties until December 2021.
Born in Keokuk Falls, near Prague, Oklahoma, Della was the last living child of Odie Jane and Robert Columbus Raines. She was one of eleven children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hank Murphy; her son, Bruce Murphy; and her son-in-law, Lt. Craig Reynolds.
She is survived by her son, Steve Murphy of Lexington and her daughter, Rhonda Murphy Reynolds of Norman and her children, Zac and Murphy. Steve Murphy is the father of Della’s other grandchildren, Nichole Murphy Keith, and sons, Miles and Cash, Amanda Murphy Cummings, husband Robert, and their children, Hannah and Wyatt; Parker Murphy, his wife, Megan, and their children, Maizy and Henry; Ethan Murphy and his wife, Kara; and many, many relatives of her large family. She loved them all and she knew that you loved her.
Per Della’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family suggests donations to the Dale K. Graham Veterans Foundation in Norman, Oklahoma.
