Daylight Saving Time returns Sunday

Posted

It’s back! Well, almost.

Daylight Savings Time returns at 2 a.m. Sunday and it will brighten our evenings with extended sunlight for the next 34 weeks.

If springing forward clockwise leaves you feeling out of sorts over lost sleep, there are a couple of simple solutions.

The first is setting all of your time pieces ahead one hour before you go to bed Saturday night.

Really, it isn’t necessary to set your alarm for 2 a.m. just so you can turn the clock ahead to 3 a.m. before tossing, turning and trying to go back to sleep.

On the plus side so long as you have your alarm set for your normal weekend wake-up time, you won’t be late for church.

And simple solution #2? Should you find yourself  nodding off later in the day, do yourself a favor and take a nap.

You will be good to go – at least until 2 a.m. November 6 when we revert to standard time.

Until then, embrace the change and enjoy those long, well-lit evenings.
