Lexington will host Dickson’s Comets tonight (Thursday) for a 7 p.m. senior night contest at Floyd West Field.
The senior night ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. prior to the 7 p.m. game.
The Comets will operate out of a spread formation on offense and base their defense out of a 3-4 set.
A bright spot for the Lexington Bulldogs in their 55-0 loss at Washington last week was the play of senior quarterback and defensive back Cadyn Krueger.
“Defensively, he played pretty well. No one played great but he played well in the secondary getting everyone lined up,” head coach Keith Bolles said.
“And he ran the ball so hard on offense bouncing off and around people,” the coach said.
Krueger rushed 17 times for 75 yards.
Colton Richards led the in tackles with six.
“One thing we have to do against Dickson is to cut down on our turnovers,” the coach continued. “We had three fumbles in the first half that really hurt.
“We have to limit our turnovers this week and have a little more time of possession so some of our defensive guys can get a little rest,” Bolles said.
“They have had a lead in every game they’ve played this year. They are fast starters. We have to limit that start, play football and do our jobs individually to help the team,” he concluded.
