Funeral services for Dale Huddleston, 86, of Purcell will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.
Mr. Huddleston passed away on November 29, 2025 in Lexington.
Curtis Dale Huddleston was born on June 18, 1939 in Purcell to Curtis Huddleston and Lois Huddleston (Goss). He grew up in Purcell, attended school there, and graduated with the Dragon class of 1957.
He went on to further his education at Oklahoma State University where he studied aeronautical electrical engineering and graduated with his Bachelors in 1960. While in school, Dale was introduced to Malinda Bishop by a mutual friend. Malinda was working at the popcorn stand in the movie theater, Dale asked her if he could walk her home, and the rest as they say is history.
Malinda married Dale on January 29, 1960 in Purcell, and they began their life as a couple. Together they raised three children, daughter, Debbie and sons, David and Kevin. They first made their home in Moore, lived in Denver, Colorado, and in Georgia. Dale worked as an aviation electrician for a few years before finding work with the Federal Aviation Administration where he worked for over thirty years, retiring as the Personnel Officer of the Southern Region.
When he wasn’t working, Dale enjoyed being outdoors. He liked to hunt, fish, and work on projects for friends and family. He was always there to lend a helping hand in times of need. Dale was a man of great faith, for a number of years he aided in missionary efforts to build homes for the impoverished, and he served as a Deacon at Union Hill Baptist Church.
Dale’s life built a legacy and leaves a well lived example of what it means to be a husband, father, and friend behind for those around him. He was a good man who will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Lois Huddleston; his beloved wife, Malinda Huddleston; his son, David Huddleston and his siblings, Janet Jones and Roy Huddleston.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Roberts (Tony) of Martin, Ga.; son, Kevin Huddleston (Miranda) of Deerfield, Wisc.; siblings, Bob Huddleston (Marie) of Purcell and Keith Huddleston (Sandy) of Texas; his grandchildren, Yago (Hailey), Santhda, Devin (Amanda), Stephen (Kate), Adam (Jordan), Ryan, Scott, Emmeline and Joe; great-grandchildren, Trinity “T”, Ellie, Maddie, Daylon, Colson, Wesley, Jayson, Beverly and Riley; and a host of other family and friends.
