Posted

Our beloved Dale E. Nye passed away on November 10, 2020. Dale was a wonderful husband, father, poppa, leader, brother, mentor, farmer, teacher, and friend. He was many great things in his life, but most importantly a man of God. Dale was a member of Lindsay First Baptist Church and volunteered as an usher as well as assisting with the weekly offering count.

Dale had many accomplishments and served in numerous leadership positions. After receiving his bachelor’s at Oklahoma State University and a masters from East Central University, he taught agricultural education for 10 years and continued to be an avid supporter of FFA, served as the adult education coordinator, assistant superintendent, deputy superintendent and superintendent at Mid-America Technology Centers for 22 years and was Chief Executive Officer of Rural Electric Cooperative for 15 years. He was only one written essay away from receiving his PhD.

Dale was loved dearly by so many people. He was a hard worker, a great storyteller and made the best barbeque ribs for any occasion. He was the son of William Nye and Marie Nye-Leese and brother to Georgia Baxter and Thresa Schmitz.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Raney; granddaughter, Emily Lollis; mother and father-in-law, Murry and Colleen Baker; and brother-in-law, Brian Baker.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Leschen Nye; daughters, Kari Lollis and Julie Dunn; son-in-law, Nathan Dunn; and grandchildren, Allison and Bailey Lollis and Braden and Lexi Dunn.

Private family services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Okla., with Nathan Dunn and Bro. Gene Sanders officiating. Committal services were held at the Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay.

Burial was under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, Okla.
