Funeral services for Claudine Herell, 88, of Purcell were held Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Herell passed away at her home on March 19, 2023.

Claudine Ruth was born on September 23, 1934 in Coalgate, Okla. As a young lady she met Tommy Lee Herell, they quickly fell in love and were married on June 22, 1956. They made their home in Purcell and raised two children, Dwayne and Tammie.

Claudine worked as a bookkeeper most her life for numerous places starting at the Russell Insurance Agency, GTE Phone Company, Mid-America Vo-tech, First Baptist Church in Purcell, and all the while she also kept the books for her family’s business, Herell’s 66 Service Station.

She was a hard worker who also loved staying involved with her community and church in her free time. She was a member of the mother’s club, the extension club, and always volunteered to help with church activities and functions. She worked in the church nursery for over 35 years caring for the kids and loved watching them grow.

Claudine loved to spend time on the golf course, or with a good book. For over twenty years she traveled on Sister Trips throughout Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and even Colorado. Claudine and her sisters would hit the open road and find adventure all over the map from Branson to Broken Bow, they cherished the time they got to spend with one another as family.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and woman of faith who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Tommy Herell; her son, Dwayne “Fred” Herell and her parents, Marvin and Mabel Walker.

She is survived by her sisters, Carolyn Ward and husband, Sonny, and Jo Ann Huddleston, both of Purcell and Arlene Kennedy of Maysville; her daughter ,Tammie Herell of Purcell; daughter-in-law, Debbie Herell of Purcell; grandchildren, Trisha, Ryan, Tryce, Coleman, Brandy and Samantha; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
