Chuck Whitaker, of Pauls Valley, passed away November 12, 2021 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years.

Chuck was born February 27, 1957 in Norman, Oklahoma, to Nathan Edward and Wanda Jane (Evans) Whitaker. He was raised in Noble, Oklahoma, raised his family in Lexington, Okla., and later moved to Pauls Valley, Okla., where he made his home for the last 15 years. He and Mary Piper were married in Noble, Oklahoma, on May 26, 1978.

Chuck was the proud owner of Chuckles Auto Sales and Green Avenue Auto Sales in Purcell, Okla., for many years.  He spent his life in the auto industry and church ministry. He served as the youth/music minister at multiple churches throughout his life. He loved his children’s music ministry, spending time at Falls Creek with the youth, singing on the praise team at Trinity Baptist, his Sunday school class at Trinity, and singing with the Singing Churchman of Oklahoma.

After retiring from the car business Chuck spent his last working days at Walmart in Pauls Valley, Okla., where he loved getting to see and talk with all the people in the community. He truly loved his co-workers and the customers he would see every night.

Chuck had a passion for life. He loved family, music, cars, and OU football. Most of all he enjoyed traveling with his two sons where he would spend time with his grandson, Ace, attend sporting events, lots of fishing, good food, and lots of laughs. Chuck was a giver and a lover. Everyone called him “Chuckles” because of that unforgettable laugh and joyful demeanor. He never met a stranger and no one that met him will ever forget his larger than life smile.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan E. and Wanda J. Whitaker and Bill Gray; and two brothers, David Whitaker and Scott Whitaker.

Chuck’s surviving family include his wife of over 43 years, Mary; two sons and their wives, Clayton and Angel Whitaker, and Mike and Ashley Whitaker; one grandson, Ace Michael Whitaker; three sisters, Paulette Coulter, Penny Johnson, and Sonja Stroud; three brothers, Billy Gray, Robin Gray, and Carl Gray; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Dwayne Johnson. Interment will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery - Noble under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
