Mr. Ozment passed away on March 23, 2026.
Charles Vincent Ozment was born on November 16,1936, the oldest of two children, born to Charlie and Juanita (Siner) Ozment.
He went to school and graduated with the Purcell Dragon class of 1956. Charles worked in a variety of areas throughout his life. He worked at the Produce House from high school until he went to the Army and served in Berlin, Germany with the occupation forces. After the military Charles was a welder, a front-end mechanic, worked with the water department for the City of Norman, and worked as a mechanic for International Harvester. Charles was a hard-worker in whatever he was doing.
He met his lovely wife Wilma (Wadlow) Ozment during a Christmas play at the Purcell Pentecostal Church. Charles was playing Joseph and Wilma was playing Mary. It was love at first sight. The couple got married December 24, 1959 and spent 59 years together before the passing of Wilma. Charles loved just riding around, sight-seeing with Wilma. The couple enjoyed going to the walking trails at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur and going to Branson with his family. He also loved watching westerns and Wheel of Fortune.
Charles had a strong Christian faith and loved the Lord. He was a faithful member of the Independent Pentecostal Church in Purcell. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandpa and friend and will be missed.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Ozment; and his parents, Charlie and Juanita Ozment.
He is survived by his children, Brian Ozment and wife, Jane, of Purcell, Kathy Fowler and husband, Donald, of Maysville, and David Ozment of Oklahoma City; his sister, Gail Skaggs and husband, Jimmy, of Moore; aunt, Ernestine (Doll) Lewis; his four grandchildren, Decklan Riordan and wife, Pam, Crystal Jacks and husband, Ben, Erin Contreras and husband, Hayden, and Mandy Akin and husband, Taylor; two great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
