Carmen Gene Young Goodspeed was born on her family’s farm in Tipton, Oklahoma, on January 13, 1942. She passed away in Norman, Oklahoma, on July 12, 2025.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the First Baptist Church Norman, 211 W. Comanche St., Norman, OK 73069.
She is survived by her son, David and his wife, Jenny; granddaughter, Rylee; grandsons, Michael Wintory, Collin Power, Ryan Rogers and his wife, Jordan, and Braden Hunter and his wife, Raylee, and their son Tritt.
She is also survived by her brother, Rex Young and his wife, Myroslava, of Reston, Virginia, and their children, Larisa and Gershom. Carmen leaves behind a number of cousins, including Susan and Steve Stevens of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, and their family.
