Purcell Bonus Auction tonight

Posted

Purcell residents will have a once-a-year opportunity to encourage youths today (Thursday).

All that’s required is a little time and some financial support.

This evening is the bonus auction for the recent Purcell Livestock Show.

Erica Keen, FFA advisor at Purcell High School, said the evening will begin with a catered fajita dinner from Bravo’s. Keen’s agriculture students and local 4-H members are furnishing the desserts.

The meal will be served starting at 6 p.m. and the auction proper will follow at 7 p.m.

Receiving bonus money will be the young exhibitors of 24 animals – 10 heifers, seven gilts and 7 barrows.

Holding the gavel will be auctioneer Richard Branch.

Those exhibitors include both Purcell FFA members and 4-H’ers.

Add-on sheets will be available for anyone wanting to contribute to the proceeds that will be paid to the exhibitors.

Keen said not all the auction offerings will come in on four hooves.

Also up for bids will be an FFA quilt and a generator.

In addition, there will be prizes given during the auction and the winner will be drawn in a 50-50 raffle sponsored by the FFA Booster Club.
