Busy week for ‘Dawgs

Posted

Lexington started strong last Friday jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning but ended up on the wrong end of a 10-3 count.

Drew Dierking led the offense going 2-3 with a triple and an RBI. Zeke Faulkenberry and Ty Mixon both had hits in the game.

“After we started strong we cooled off from there,” head coach Jarod Ennis said. “Dibble put the ball in play. We will bounce back and be ready to go this week.”

Bethel pinned a pair of losses on the Bulldogs, 7-4, in the opener and 17-7 in the nightcap March 31.

Skylar Rollins had a three run home run in the fourth inning of the opener with Zeke and Dierking on base.

Zeke, Dierking, Ezra Faulkenberry and Jacob Turnpaugh also had hits in the game.

Purcell knocked off the Bulldogs 12-3 earlier in the week.

Weather played havoc on Monday with a scheduled game at Marietta.

Lexington made the trip on Tuesday for a make-up game.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to play at Wayne Thursday and at Asher Friday. The ‘Dawgs are scheduled to play at Heritage Hall next Monday and host the Chargers on Tuesday.
