A Blanchard man was arrested by McClain County Sheriff Deputies last week for possessing child sexual abuse material.

Bob A. Taylor, 49, is in the McClain County Jail facing charges of possession of child sexual abuse material, violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act, soliciting sexual communication with a minor by use of technology and destruction of evidence.

The sheriff’s department said a second person was arrested on the scene for unrelated charges of Possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jorge Gomez, no age given, was determined to have an illegal status and has an ICE hold placed on him.

The investigation originated in early January of this year when Grady County Sheriff’s Officers received multiple cybetips.

McClain County Sheriff Office also received these tips. When Grady County determined the suspect was outside of their jurisdiction, McClain County Detectives were assigned to the Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force. The task force opened a case and began investigating with a search warrant issued on Taylor that resulted in his arrest.

Scott Gibbons, public information officer, said his office would like to thank their partner agencies including the Grady County Sheriff’s Office, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the District 21 Task Force, the Norman Police Department and the Blanchard Police Department.

The McClain County Sheriff’s Department is an affiliate member of the Oklahoma ICAC task force under the direction of the OSBI and has committed a detective to investigate these types of crimes.
