Members of Landmark Church teamed up to hand out food sacks as part of their back-to-school outreach in the church parking lot last Saturday morning. They also gave away backpacks filled with school supplies and gift cards.
With the COVID-19 situation, Landmark Church members held their annual back-to-school outreach in the church parking lot at 1106 W. Grant Street where food, school supplies and gift cards were given away last Saturday morning as motorists drove through.
Landmark Church in Purcell continued a tradition of reaching out to the community as school bells are just around the corner.
“For 11 years we have had a back-to-school outreach, and for the past several years we have gathered in downtown Purcell,” Landmark Pastor Justin Blankenship said.
“With everything going on with COVID-19 we decided this year to do a drive-thru experience at our church,” he continued.
“We worked with the Regional Food Bank to provide food and provided free backpacks with school supplies.
“We look forward to being back downtown in the future but are thankful we could still do a community outreach during this time,” Blankenship concluded.
