Memorial services for Harold Windell Caskey, 81, of Lexington will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mr. Caskey passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 19, 2022.

Harold was the oldest of 10 children born to Harold and Bobbie (Reynolds) Caskey. He grew up and attended school in Wanette. Harold graduated with the Tiger class of 1959.

Shortly after graduation, Harold met and married the love of his life Gayle (Parks) Caskey. Together they raised two sons, James and Tony, and a daughter, Michelle.

Harold was a determined man and an extremely hard worker. He was a fireman for 20 years and retired from the Norman Fire Department. As a fireman, he worked five years fighting fires and 15 years driving the fire truck. Harold was known as “Cookie” at the fire department because of his amazing cooking skills.

After retirement with the fire department, he worked for 40 years in the carpet business. Harold owned and operated Caskey Flooring for 20 years. But there was nothing that he could not and did not do. He had experience being a mechanic, plumber, and carpenter. He even owned and operated a yard service business and a remodel business at one time.

When he wasn’t working, he loved to fish and hunt. Harold enjoyed back roading and gardening. But his absolute favorite was getting to spend time riding on the tractor brush hogging or mowing with the grandkids riding along.

Harold had lots of wisdom to share and was known for several quotes. “You know- I could have been rich and famous instead of so good looking.” Another famous Harold quote was “The gauge works just the same on the top half as is does the bottom (when referring to gas gauge).” And we certainly could not forget “Should ‘a , could ‘a , would ‘a”.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Bobby Caskey; his sisters, Patricia Caskey, Sue Dickerson and Jane Melot; his brother-in- law, Bill Dickerson; his nephew, David Dickerson; a special aunt, Josie Hackett; and a special uncle, Pard Reynolds.

Harold is survived by his sons, James Caskey and wife, Kim, of Tecumseh and Tony Caskey and wife, Brenda, of Oklahoma City; his daughter, Michelle Laurent of Lexington; his brothers, Leon Caskey of Purcell and Billy Bob Caskey of Wanette; his sisters, Kathy Starkey and husband, Kenneth, of Norman, Linda Davis of Valdosta, Georgia, Alice Swetin and husband, Bill, of Ada and Mary Pitts of Norman; his 10 grandchildren, Chris Caskey and wife, Kara, Hollie Caskey, Julie Smith, Lacee Caskey, Brandi Laurent, Tyler Laurent, Ryan Laurent, Treavor Laurent, Abigayle Chavez and husband, Edwin, and Lauren Caskey; his 11 great-grandchildren, Lila Reed, Matthew Caskey, Aaron Caskey, Kai Caskey, Eli Caskey, Rhett Smith, Vincent Chavez, Odin Reed, Gunnar Reed, Preston Hunter and Jaxson Laurent;  and a host of other family and friends. He will be dearly missed
