Arlene L. Cardwell-Williams, 98, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Mustang, Oklahoma. She was born September 4, 1922 in Washington, Oklahoma, to ASA and Annie Vawter.

Arlene was raised on the family farm and attended school in Washington, Okla. This is where she met her childhood sweetheart C.B. Cardwell and they married September 3, 1939. Together they made their home in Midwest City, where they raised their four daughters and lived and loved until C.B.’s passing in 1978.

In 1983, she married her second love Bill Williams, and they spent their married years in Purcell, Oklahoma. The two enjoyed traveling and spending their time together until his passing in 2014.

Arlene will always be remembered for her never ending love she had for her Lord and Savior and the joy she found in spreading that love onto her grandchildren. She was an active member of The First Baptist Church in Purcell, where she taught Sunday school up into her 90s. 

“Grandma”, “Grammy”, “Great-grandma”, as she was known to her most loved possessions, her grandchildren. She leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 35 great-great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.

Arlene is survived by daughter Kitty Casey and husband, Richard; daughter, Joyce Vinita and husband, Jim; daughter, Merry Parker; daughter-in-law Jennifer Williams; and beloved niece, Sandy Kluge. 

She was preceded in death by husbands, C.B. Cardwell and Bill Williams; daughter, Nancy Monday and son-in-law, Lee Monday; great-granddaughter, Sena Monday; son-in-law, Mike Parker, and nephew/son, Billie Williams. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation to your local Meals-on-Wheels.

Graveside services were held Monday, December 21, 2020 at Arlington Memory Gardens Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Okla.
