Arbors Development Phase 1 - Underground Residential (Power) Distribution

The Arbors Phase 1 is a new 83-lot residential development to the West of the existing Northridge Addition Section 3 in Purcell, OK (West of Arbor Drive and North 9th Street). The City of Purcell owns and operates an overhead 12.5/7.2kV 3Ø line running along the East side of North 9th Avenue from the South that deadends 550 feet South of the Arbors Drive entrance. Currently an overhead 1Ø lateral tap extends West across North 9th Avenue to a single riser pole. The City of Purcell will extend this line to a new pole 35 feet West of the existing riser pole (inside the property of The Arbors Development Phase 1) and convert it to 3Ø to serve the new electrical load. On the new pole, The City of Purcell will install down guys, an anchor, fuses/cutouts, and riser.

The construction for the Arbors Development Phase 1 – Underground Power Distribution associated with this bidding package begins with the construction of a 3Ø underground primary system at the new City of Purcell riser installation. Consistent with Figure 2, this construction will include trenching, backhoeing, bores, and the installation of all associated conduit, primary cable, secondary cable, new junction cabinets, transformers, and pedestals. All cables will be pulled in conduit (not direct buried). Terminations of cables at equipment and the installation of service cable (from pedestals to house meters) will be performed by the City of Purcell.

The addition consists of 3-inch conduit (SCH 40 except HDPE for bores) for all 1Ø primary and secondary and 4-inch conduit (SCH 40) for 3Ø primary. The houses in the addition are to be served by 2 loops. The entire addition will be served front-of-lot, with equipment placed within front-lot Utility Easement.

Material is to be procured by the City of Purcell and reimbursed by the developer. The City of Purcell will provide equipment specifications upon request to ensure equipment is installed per normal operating practices. Figure 1 contains a list of material quantities associated with this construction. Note that quantities listed in feet (ft) are approximations and exact amounts may vary slightly. The location for the material lay-down yard is planned to be located on separate City of Purcell property where other inventory is kept. Material for this construction will be kept separate from other inventory belonging to the City of Purcell, and will be checked out and signed for as needed. The City of Purcell will require on-site Quality Assurance (QA) personnel during construction. The construction contractor must coordinate schedules with the City of Purcell to accommodate the city’s QA inspections.
