An Eggstravaganza?

Posted

Purcell Kiwanis Club members are official assistants to the Easter Bunny.

In that role, EB charged them with putting on an Easter egg hunt replete with COVID-19 pandemic protocols.

Whew!

So the club members tweaked some rules and made a few changes to the standard Easter egg hunt plan.

The result will be the 2020 Easter Eggstravaganza on April 3.

In a regular hunt, eggs are hidden and youngsters search them out.

It can get crowded on the field. So social distancing was called for.

Chief assistant Bonnie Ray said Kiwanis members will hand out bags containing Easter eggs at the Purcell Multipurpose Center parking lot, 1400 Chandler Park Road.

Bags will be designated for the following age groups – 0 to 2 years, 3 to 5 years, 6 to 8 years and 9 to 12 years.

Once a child receives an age-designated bag, they can check inside the eggs.

If there’s a prize egg, he or she can take it to the vehicle for that age group and collect the prize.

All the Easter Bunny assistants ask participants to wear masks and practice social distancing.

The Easter Eggstravaganza will start at 9 a.m. and continue until all bags have been distributed.

Children must be present to receive a bag.
