Amadel (Duffy) Wallace passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the age of 99 at Sunset Estates in Purcell.

Amadel was born in Lexington on April 6, 1922. She attended Eastern State College before going on to Southeastern State College where she attained her BA in English.

In 1968 she began her career teaching English and Spanish at Haleyville High School where she stayed until 1978. She went on to teach at Deer Creek and Western Heights before moving on to become a substitute teacher until her retirement in 1983. She was beloved by her many students who she was proud to have taught.

Amadel was preceded in death by her parents, Eph and Jane Duffy; a sister, Mary Jane Marquis; a brother, John; an unnamed twin brother; her husband, W.R. “Dick” Wallace; her son, Richard and granddaughter, Christina Wallace.

She will be remembered by her son, Tomas Wallace and his wife, Susan, and 11 grandchildren.

Memorials can be made in her name to Sunset Estates in Purcell, Oklahoma.
