Alice Faye Powell passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, in Edmond, Oklahoma. Alice was born on February 19,1947 to L.F. (Tays) Powell and Mary Emma (Stofle) Powell.
She attended Scoby school through second grade. She graduated from Wayne High School in 1964, and was the class salutatorian. After attending Central State College for two years, she completed a degree in Biological Sciences from Oklahoma State University in 1969.
After college, Alice moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, for four years returning to Edmond in 1973 where she remained until her death.
Alice worked for Honeywell for 30 years, winning many awards for outstanding sales and service. After her retirement from Honeywell, she worked for Luckinbill Services, then Federal Corporation until 2014.
Alice was fiercely independent. She enjoyed being around and helping others. Her greatest gift was her love for her family. She was an amazing cook, and always looked forward to family birthdays and other family celebrations throughout the years. Her cherry pies were the BEST!!
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Robert and twin brother,William Jay (Bill) Powell.
She is survived by her brother, Raymond (Amanda) of Wayne; sisters, Mary Powell Evatt (Bruce) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Barbara Looman (Loran) of Wayne; four nieces, Dr. Marian Beauchamp, Christy Young, Jennifer Waters and Alicia Blackburn; two nephews, Matt Looman and Brandon Powell; 10 great-nieces and nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.
Alice donated her body to medical science. No services are planned at this time.
