Global warming likely put the kibosh on the Christmas in July campaign for McClain County Operation Christmas.
Well, a new month brings new opportunity to give. So how about Advent in August?
Peggy Christian, a founder and chief elf for the annual charity, said the need is always there regardless of heat waves in July.
Among the items needed now are toys, toys and more toys, along with school supplies and the like.
Monetary donations are always welcome and should be mailed to Darrell Ford, McClain County Operation Christmas chairman, at P.O. Box 756, Purcell, Okla., 73080.
There is also a need for Christmas elves, the more the merrier.
To volunteer, contact Christian at 405-990-4001.
McClain County Operation Christmas recipients must be residents of McClain County and have to meet strict income requirements.
