After a truck struck a utility pole in the Mazzio’s parking lot Thursday morning, power will be out for an extended period of time for both Mazzio’s and Dollar General Store.

That’s the word from the Purcell Electric Department after three transformers were lost in the accident.

Until the city can replace the broken pole, homes south of that line are also expected to experience extended delays, electric department officials said.

Other homes in the affected area should not be without power for much longer.
