5 questions with Andie Millsap

Posted

Editor’s note: Answering  The Purcell Register’s five questions this week is Andie Millsap, Purcell City Clerk.

Q: Are there many differences in being a legal secretary and city clerk?

A:Yes. Everything in the legal field is very private and it’s a hard transition to the transparency of city government.

Also having to hone skills for minutes to a summary as opposed to transcribing verbatim. Many other things but those two stick out most.

Q: Is city clerk what you expected?

A: I didn’t really have any preconceived notions about the job. It is a lot to learn all new things at my age.

Q: What hobbies do you enjoy away from the office?

A: I love to knit, ride my motorcycle with my husband, Tim, kayak with my son, Parker and his wife, Meg, who live in Nashville and FaceTime with my daughter, Shelby, and granddaughter, Lou, who are in Australia.

Q: What is something about you that most people don’t know?

A: Whatever it is, I’m keeping it a secret. Hahaha.

Q: Parker is an accomplished musician and recording artist. Did he get his musical ability from you?

A: I can sing but his dad really laid the groundwork with the music by introducing him to all styles of music that was not top 40 or getting radio play.
