1.9” falls in Purcell

Chance for rain and storms Thursday

The Heart of Oklahoma missed out on wave number three in last weeks’ much needed April shower event but the first two waves dropped 1.9” in Purcell and central Oklahoma.

That brings the year-to-date total for Purcell to 9.95”. Conversely, Oklahoma City has received 8.83” so far this year. The normal year-to-date total for this area is 8.73”.

In the two days of rain, Byars received the most rain in the entire state at 3.10”. Washington received 1.05” with one gauge in Dibble recording just over two inches.

Additional rain, with the chance for storms, is predicted for Thursday.
