Wayne knocked out

The Wayne Lady Bulldogs were in Caddo last week for the District matchup with Caddo and Rock Creek.

Wayne was slated to play the game one loser.

After Rock Creek fell to Caddo, Wayne faced off with the Lady ??.

Wayne bested Rock Creek 6-3. 

With the score knotted at 1-1 through four innings, Rock Creek two runs across in the top of the fifth. 

Wayne answered with three run of their own to take the 4-3 lead.

The Lady Bulldogs scored two more insurance runs in the sixth to seal the win and move on to play Caddo.

Wayne had nine hits in the win.

In a best two out of three, the Lady Bulldogs fell to Caddo 7-0 in the first game. 

Caddo jumped out on top from the first inning scored one run in the first, three in the secong and one more in the third.

The Lady Bruins added two more in the sixth to pull out the win.

In a win-or-go-home situation, Wayne fell to Caddo in game two, 12-8, to end their season in the District tournament.

Caddo’s bats were on fire, as they scored seven runs in the first two innings to hold the 7-1 lead. 

But, Wayne was not going away easily. The Lady Bulldogs scored three in the third to chip away at the Caddo lead.

The Lady Bruins pushed two more runs across in both the fourth and fifth innings to maintain their lead.

Wayne added one in the fifth and three in sixth, but it wasn’t enough to pull out the win. 

The Lady Bulldogs had 16 hits in the loss, including three RBIs from Maddison Hunt and two from Kamryn Moss.

Wayne finishes the season with a 22-10 record and will graduate five seniors from their fast-pitch. 

Seniors include Bailey Kennedy, Abigail Lee, Raedyn Dean, Stormy Miller and Hunt.
