Warriors rattle off two more

Posted

The Washington Warriors picked up two more checks in the win category last week.

They defeated Pauls Valley (80-74) and Davis (69-57).

Hayden Hicks had two monster games, scoring 29 against Pauls Valley and 26 against Davis.

Hicks has been inflicting major damage on Washington’s opponents from behind the arc and hit six three pointers in each of their last two games.

After getting off to a slow start against Davis, scoring only three points in the first half, he caught fire and went off for 23 points in the second half against the Wolves.

“He struggled early but got hot late,” Washington Head Coach TJ Scholz said.

Washington also got scoring help in the Davis game from Kobe Scott, who had 14 points, and Luke Hendrix with 13.

In the Pauls Valley game Hicks was joined in double figures by Aden Hyde (12) and Cash Andrews (11).

Washington is now 4-2 since the Christmas break and have a 6-7 record overall.

The Warriors hit the road this week for the Bobby Hicks Invitational Basketball Tournament in Little Axe.

They play at 2:30 today (Thursday) against Noble.

The Washington girls play Little Axe at 10 a.m. Thursday.
