Saturday’s Walk the Trail event at Purcell Lake was deemed a success by John Blue, director of the city’s Parks & Recreation Department.
It was the second annual event, covering one mile filled with games, challenges and fun for the entire family.
Several people turned out to participate.
Hosting Walk the Trail this year were the Parks & Recreation Department and Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce.
Sponsors were OEC Fiber, Walmart, Windy Chevrolet and Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust.
Sixteen booths along the trail were staffed by Mad Science Oklahoma, Mr. Yeti’s Snow Cones, TSET, Pottawatomie County Health Department, Cricket Wireless, CCRT, Christian Life Daycare, Sweat Shop, Army Reserves, McClain County Museum, Pioneer Public Library, Lauren Stubblefield Art, Purcell Police Department, Purcell Fire Department, McClain County Sheriff’s Department and Purcell High School Student Council.
