Graveside funeral services for Tempie Goldston, 86, of Purcell were held Monday, October 14, 2019 at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Services were under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Goldston passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Lexington Nursing Home.

Tempie Sue Martin was born February 25, 1933 in Erick, Oklahoma, one of nine children born to Oris Cecil and Alma Lucille (Parker). She spent her early childhood in Erick, but age nine, the Martins had moved to California, settling in the Imperial Valley area.

On May 27, 1951, at age 18, Tempie married her best friend, Bobby “Bob” Howell Goldston, in El Centro, Calif. They made their home in El Centro for nearly 40 years, where together they raised two sons, B.J. and Ken.

Tempie worked as a legal secretary for many years and retired from the Imperial County. Her greatest joy however, was being a wife and mother, and eventually a grandmother.

In retirement, Bob and Tempie moved to Purcell. Tempie cherished her family and looked forward to their family vacations.

Bob and Tempie served at both Memorial Assembly of God and Lighthouse Worship Center in Purcell. She was a wonderful wife and mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a woman of great faith; a prayer warrior and an ambassador for Christ. She leaves powerful legacy!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby “Bob” Goldston in March of this year; granddaughter, Kristin Goldston Widner; parents, Oris and Lucille Martin; sisters, Cecil Chastain, Joetta Martin, Lena Schall, Billie Woodruff and brothers, Rev. Bunk Martin, Rev. Leon Martin and O.C. Martin.

Tempie is survived by her children, B.J. Goldston and wife, Lin, of Moore and Ken Goldston and wife, Judi, of Purcell; three grandchildren, Joe Goldston and wife, Christie, of Purcell, Jana Rowe and husband, Jonathan, of Warner and Nathan Goldston of Moore; two great-grandchildren,Parker and Carter; her sister, Alma Wright of Riverside, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
