Washington’s girls finished sixth in the 3A Regional track meet at Plainview last Saturday with 46 points.

Mattie Richardson won the long jump competition with a leap of 16’4”.

Janelle Winterton of Lexington won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.07 and was second in the long jump with a 16’1” effort.

Winterton won the 100 meters in 12.66 followed by Richardson who covered the distance in 12.83.

Tinley Lucas of Washington was third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.43.

As a team, Lexington finished 10th with 29 points.

On the boys side, Washington finished fourth with 85 points led by first place finishes in both the 800 meter and 3200 meter relays.

The 800 meter quartet covered the distance in 1:32.98. The foursome included Kobe Scott, Brayden Arthur, Hunter Jackson and Luke Hendrix.

The foursome of Cole Beller, Grant Hagere, Grayson Mitchell and Travis Bolling teamed for the 3200 relay Regional Championship in 8:53.76.

Hendrix was second in the 200 in 22.68. 

Washington was second in the 400 relay in 44.94. The foursome in the 400 relay included Scott, Arthur, Cole Scott and Hendrix

Lexington’s Seth Pearman finished third in the 400 in 53.24. Washington’s Kobe Scott and Purcell’s Noah Mason tied for second in the high jump at 6’.

Lexington’s Blake Dunaway was third in the discus with a 117’2” effort.

All qualified for the State Track Meet next weekend in Catoosa.

Cora Vasquez of Lexington also qualified for the State Meet in the shot put after finishing sixth with a heave of 32’.
