Softball ends for Lex

Lexington’s 2021 slow-pitch softball season ended in Washington with a pair of losses to the Warriors last Thursday.

Lexington began the District Tournament with a 15-3 victory over Hennessey.

The Lady ‘Dawgs used the long ball to their advantage with Izzy Pack, Maddie Pack, Ryli Harmon and Jaci Idlett all going yard in the contest.

Maddie Pack led with four RBI in a 2-3 performance.

Idlett was also 2-3 with two RBIs. Abby Turnpaugh and Kiely Givens both went 3-3 at the plate. Harmon finished the victory with a trio of RBIs.

Lexington out-hit Hennessey 18-4.

Earlier in the week Lexington knocked off Purcell 18-9 led by Izzy Pack’s 4-4 outing that included an RBI. She scored four times.

Idlett was a perfect 3-3 while Harmon hit a home run and had five RBIs in the game. Leslie  Barber had three RBIs while Abby Turnpaugh was 2-3.

But the season came to an end when Washington pinned 24-14 and 14-1 run-rule victories on the Lady Bulldogs.

 In the first game when Lexington had 14 hits, Izzy Pack led the way hitting safely three out of four times at the plate. She also had a solo home run.

Idlett went yard in a 2-4 outing that included four RBIs.

Abby Sample went 2-2 with a double and a pair of RBIs. Givens, Abby Turnpaugh and Leslie Barber all had a hit in the game.

Lexington was limited to five hits as a team in the nightcap.

The Lady Bulldogs finished the season 8-17.
