Purcell racked up 16 hits in a thrilling come-from-behind slow-pitch softball victory at Lindsay April 8.
The Dragons out-scored the Leopardettes 10-7.
“The game showcased everyone’s ability to contribute,” head coach Sarah Jones said.
Those red-hot bats went silent in a 8-0 loss at Latta last Thursday.
“We struggled against Latta, managing only five hits and committing too many errors,” Jones said.
Purcell will travel to Sulphur for the District Tournament.
They square off first against Plainview at 11 a.m. April 23 with the loser of that game facing Sulphur.
The Purcell-Plainview winner will face Sulphur with if necessary games to follow.
“To advance to Regionals, we must focus on becoming more consistent at the plate and building confidence in our defense,” Jones said.
The Dragons were to face Lindsay at home on Tuesday night and play host to Crescent at 4:30 p.m. today (Thursday) for Senior Night. The senior celebration will begin at 6 p.m.
