Reverend Donnie Eugene Haynes died April 23, 2022 in Midwest City at the age of 83 years 3 months 19 days. Funeral Services were held Friday, April 29, 2022 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at Chappel Hill Cemetery, east of Lexington, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service. Don was the first child of five, born to William and Thelma (French) Haynes, on January 4, 1939 in Los Angeles, California. He was raised all over the country, since the family moved around following work.

On July 6, 1962, Don married Dawn Cline in San Bernardino, California. They made Lexington, Oklahoma, their home in 1975. Don enjoyed studying and sharing the Bible, and never met a stranger. He was very social and liked to tell stories and chat about old cars.

Don loved his family, constantly harassing his children and spoiling his grandchildren, and loved his wife beyond measure.  Don also enjoyed gardening, cutting fire wood, working on old cars and his dogs.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma Haynes; his sister, Sylvia Christie; his brother, Willis Haynes; his granddaughter, Chasity Brewster-Caldwell; his great-granddaughter, Riley Rose Monden; son-in-law, Ben Brewster; and daughter-in-law, Dona Haynes.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn Haynes of the home; his daughter, Kay Brewster of Norman; his daughter, Tammy Wilkerson and husband, Rick, of Lexington; his son, Donnie Haynes, Jr. of Lexington; his daughter, Faith Haynes of Lexington; his son, Daniel Haynes and wife, Amanda, of Lexington; his 10 grandchildren, JD Brewster and wife, Dana, Jennifer Olson and husband, Michael, Stefanie Monden and husband, Jacob, Shane Wilkerson and wife, Sharra, JC Haynes and wife, Gisela, Scott Beller and wife, Delia, Brianna Roat and fiancé, Parker Terrell, Austin Roat and Addyson Haynes; his 22 great-grandchildren; his brother, Erskine Haynes and wife, Janet, of Arkansas; his sister, Maxine Haynes of Wewoka; and numerous other relatives and friends.
