Rep. Cole co-sponsors bill

Posted

Fourth District Congressman Tom Cole has become the second Oklahoma Congressman to co-sponsor the No Budget No Pay Bill.

Kingfisher businessman Brian Walter has made it his main focus to get all the Oklahoma delegation to co-sponsor the legislation showing support to stem the growing national debt.

Previously, Walter persuaded Congressman Frank Lucas to co-sponsor the bill.

Walter’s next goal is to get Congressman Markwayne Mullin to co-sponsor the bill.

Walter used print advertising in The El Reno Tribune to persuade Lucas and he used The Purcell Register to persuade Cole to be a co-sponsor.

His plan is to use The Sequoyah County Times to work on Mullin.

“In his nonpartisan support for the bill, we are pleased there are citizens like Mr. Walter that will work for the good of the country,” Register Publisher John D. Montgomery, Jr. said.

“We are proud of Congressmen Cole and Lucas for co-sponsoring the bill,” he said.

Congressman Cole: “As many American families know well, getting out of debt and staying out of debt requires a budget. Especially with the rapid and unsustainable growth of our nation’s debt, lawmakers in Congress must not ignore the important task of crafting and passing an annual budget plan. The No Budget No Pay Act draws necessary attention to the urgency of this issue.”
