Rain cuts schedule

After notching two wins over Bethel last week Mother Nature decided to hit the pause button on Washington’s 2021 baseball season.

Their games against Little Axe, which were supposed to be played Thursday, won’t be made up after the Indians forfeited both games.

So the Warriors set their sights on Roff Monday.

“We didn’t play for a week,” head coach Jeff Kulbeth said.

The Warriors were defeated 9-6 by Roff Monday night.

Kulbeth approached the game a little differently than normal and made sure to get multiple pitchers some work in as the District tournament looms.

Luke Keltner, Colin Pelton and Aden Hyde all saw action on the mound.

Offensively, the Warriors scattered eight hits in the game.

Camden Bates and Reese Stephens both homered. Stephens and Hyde both finished the night with two RBIs.

Washington plays Oklahoma Christian School this week for the District title.

They will have to win both games to claim the championship.

“We’ll have to sweep due to the CCS loss,” Kulbeth said.

The Warriors will then play at Tuttle on Monday in a tune-up game before the State Playoffs begin.
