Purcell gridders on the job

Posted

Purcell football players began summer workouts Monday.

That’s the word from head coach Tracy Scott with juniors and seniors working out from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Sophomores and freshmen are going from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with junior high players working out from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

“They will have to have a face covering,” Scott said. “A bandana will work. If they want something to drink they will have to bring their own.”

Players will be responsible for bringing their own towels.

“It’s staggered to keep numbers low,” the coach continued. “We will follow the new OSSAA guidelines.”

Wayne also started on Monday with the varsity going at 8 a.m. and the Middle School at 10 a.m., according to head coach Brandon Sharp.

Washington Head Coach Brad Beller said his team will probably start this coming Monday.

Lexington High School Athletes will start June 15 and junior high athletes July 13, according to Bulldog Head Coach Dale Berglan.
